OSF Healthcare Patient Care Tech I (CNA) - Adult Cardiac ICU, Nights in United States
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager and according to department standards, functions as a member of the Patient Care Team to provide appropriate basic care to patients based on the ages of the patients served on the unit. This includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observing patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include functioning as a Personal Safety Attendant. Records pertinent information in patient charts and communicates with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care. The following are general characteristics of this job, although duties may vary by assigned shift.
The job incumbent is required to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit.
This requires that the incumbent demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of the patient population served.
Work requires ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
Must be 17 years old to be considered for position.
Must be CNA certified.
Must obtain and maintain certification in BLS.
Work requires the interpersonal skills necessary to comfort patients, family members and/or significant others; and to communicate effectively with other patient care providers.
Work requires analytical ability necessary to prioritize work load.
