Dell EMC is searching for individuals with a deep understanding of the IT Technology market, a background in strategy analysis, and having skills in project management to be an integral part of Dell EMC’s new Technology Strategy Group within the Office of the CTO.

The Technology Strategy Group will be responsible for helping Dell EMC develop market winning strategies based on a keen understanding of emerging technologies, their implications on the company and the opportunities they may present. Individuals with the above mentioned characteristics will fill the role of Strategy Consultant.

Strategy Consultants will manage the team’s strategy projects and will collaborate with technologists within the CTO Office and Product Business Units to develop market leading strategies.

Besides managing projects, a Strategy Consultant will be responsible for aligning the team’s technology insights with market and business requirements, leading the creation and delivery of strategic plans that will used but Dell EMC’s senior executive leadership in decision making.

The successful candidate for this role will have a background as a Strategy Analyst or Product Manager in the IT Technology market and have a track record of being able to develop strategic plans based on researching and analyzing internal and external information on a broad range of strategic topics. The candidate will also have the ability to work with cross organizational teams, managing their efforts and synthesizing recommended strategies based on the team’s collective work. Project Management abilities are required but the primary function of this role will be strategy development and the ideal candidate will have the ability to drive results from project teams.

Strategy Consultants will also be responsible for a number of other activities. They must have the ability to develop documents and presentations to be used by senior leaders in evaluating strategy proposals. They will also be expected to take on some of the tasks associated with product management. The Office of the CTO will have development resources working on early stage concepts which may be suitable for productization; Strategy Consultants will be responsible for developing initial business plans for these concepts and to work with Dell EMC’s Product Business Unit partners to transition the concepts into the product development pipeline.

Skills & Capabilities

  • Previous roles on strategic analysis or product management with responsibility for product/portfolio strategy.

  • The ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks and to work under pressure.

  • The ability to effectively coordinate resources on projects to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills for data development, analysis, and synthesis of information.

  • Background in one or more of Dell EMC’s core markets and an understanding of the broader market trends impacting the IT Technology market.

  • Ability to leverage and analyze external sources such as analysts’ data and integrate them into strategic plans.

  • Ability to develop early stage business plans.

  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organization skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of business partners.

  • Strong writing and presentation development skills.

  • The ability to be self-motivated and work independently with some supervision.

  • Ability to interact with executives.

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
