Facilitates the planning process, and provides budget, selection and data for specified equipment to the Project Architect, Project Manager, and the Consultant Architect of record. Supervises and coordinates the activities of Consultant Equipment Planners for large scale projects.
Participates in design meeting with clients for equipment requirements during Capital Project Request (CPR) phase of the project.
Develops a detailed schedule and project budget of all equipment for Project Charter development.
Develops, with Project Architect and Consultant Architect, specifications for the purchase and installation of medical/surgical equipment, office equipment and furniture.
Assists the Consultant Architect with preliminary inventory and evaluation of existing equipment and furnishings currently in use for potential relocation and reuse within new facility. Conducts a detailed room-by-room interview with client to determine equipment, furniture and furnishing needs for new and reutilization of existing equipment.
Reviews and records specific items of capital equipment previously programmed for purchase during the design and construction phases of project, and determines the impact of such purchases on the total equipment requirement. Prepares a separate and complete room listing of new and relocated major capital equipment with specifications of new and reused equipment (Blue Book).
Prepares and verifies final equipment budget with costs associated with the purchase, such as transportation, storage installation, refurbishment and relocation if required.
Reviews the proposed equipment awards list prepared by purchasing and reconciles the proposed awards with the project equipment list prior to award contracts.
Coordinates with Project Manager and Construction Manager scheduling of the delivery and installation dates of all reused and new equipment.
Contracts and monitors all required storage services to receive and accept equipment, furniture and furnishings delivered to the construction site as required.
Monitors receiving activities and prepares the appropriate documentation of deliveries made.
Reviews invoices or requests for payment and recommends approval to Project Manager.
Performs related duties, as required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or related field, required.
Minimum of five (5) years experience in the medical equipment planning industry.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Explorer, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, etc.) required. Experience with Prolog and AutoCAD (Computer Aided Design) preferred.
Ability to read and understand architectural and mechanical drawings from schematic to construction documents. Ability to understand medical equipment terminology and technology.
Ability to consultatively discuss equipment technology with executive level and clinical personnel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to understand, prioritize, manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to successfully complete assignments and meet project deadlines.
