Kforce has a client in search of a Compliance Officer I in Depew, New York (NY). Summary:The Compliance Officer I conducts oversight reviews and performs mortgage operational activities to ensure mortgage loans are originated, serviced, and managed in accordance with all contractual requirements, client policies and applicable regulations, and to mitigate future regulatory and litigation risks. Impact on the Business:

  • Conduct necessary sampling, document/report reviews, reconciliations, on-site audits, etc. to ensure mortgage loans are originated and serviced in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements and client financial and operational records are appropriately maintained

  • Analyze and evaluate industry, regulatory, and performance trends and propose changes to current mortgage outsource provider contract based on analysis completed


  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports pertaining to mortgage activities, including mortgage outsource provider performance

  • Research and respond to inquiries from -legacy- customers and other stakeholders (including finance, customer experience, risk, compliance and mortgage investors)

Leadership & Teamwork:

  • Support activities within mortgage servicing and oversight functions; resolve problems that arise

Operational Effectiveness & Control:

  • To implement the group compliance policy locally by containing compliance risk in liaison with the Head of Group Compliance, Global Business Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources and training, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators

  • Complete other responsibilities, as assigned

  • The knowledge of mortgage banking required in order to ensure the mortgage outsource provider is performing in accordance with the contract

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, related field preferred

  • Minimum of four years proven and progressive mortgage or risk management experience preferred

  • HUD conveyance and foreclosure

  • Strong knowledge of the residential mortgage servicing industry, company policies, government regulations, investor requirements, and guidelines

  • System: MSP, Web Direct, LoanSphere

  • Proficiency with personal computers including pertinent mainframe systems and software packages

  • Leadership skills (team leader/manager)

  • Well-developed decision-making, communications, analytical, financial, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to exercise discretion, tactfully handle sensitive and confidential data and work independently within broad guidelines

  • Proven ability to respond to changing circumstances
